PROJECT ANALYSIS & DESIGN course is designed to enable students to apply knowledge and skills required to plan, analyze, design and prepare a documentation of a project in areas of information and communication technology. This course encourages students to work individually or in a team.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLO):


Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
1.    Describe system development life cycle in project development.
2.    Apply the skills and knowledge to gather information as to ensure the planned project is feasible.
3.    Analyze information and develop specification requirements base on the fact findings.
4.    Design the user interface, input design and output design required to support project requirement.
5.    Document the report of proposed project.

    COURSE SUMMARY

    1.0    INTRODUCTION

    This topic introduces the theory of project development and management concept, and the phases involve in the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This topic also exposes students to the preparation and documentation of proposed project paper.

    2.0    PLANNING

    This topic covers how to plan, schedule and estimate cost for a project. Research and feasibility study on the organization is discussed and elaborated.

    3.0    ANALYZING

    This topic introduces two types of analysis that is preliminary and detailed analysis. Preliminary analysis includes analyzing the fact finding information gathered through different types of techniques. Detailed analysis develops the specification of requirements, based on the business system option.

    4.0    DESIGNING

    This topic elaborates on the different types of physical designs such as User Interface, input, database and output design.

    5.0    DOCUMENTATION
    This topic describe on the different types of report focused on planning, analyzing and designing report. This topic elaborates on project documentation and compare between report and documentation as well as preparing project report and documentation.
